Melissa Evans
LVT, VTS(ECC)
I used to dream that I wanted to be a star on Broadway. After spending many early years chasing that dream I realized that it was not really where my heart was. What was I going to do? I was lost.
A very smart person told me to find what I enjoyed and follow my passion. I quickly realized that taking care of animals had always been my first love. In my free time I volunteered at animal shelters and with a wildlife rehabilitator. Armed with that clarity I went to college for the second time, getting my AAS in Veterinary Technology from Bergen Community College. In 2013 I became a Licensed Veterinary Technician.
I started at a specialty hospital where I found my love of all things Emergency and Critical Care. In 2018 I achieved my new dream and earned my Veterinary Technician Specialty in ECC. I have worked in specialty hospitals in both New Jersey and New York as an Emergency, ICU and Critical Care Technician. Currently, I work relief for multiple specialty hospitals throughout New York City.
While taking care of my patients is my first love, teaching and sharing my passion for learning with my fellow veterinary professionals has become a driving force behind why I do what I do.
